Brigadier General (USAF Ret.) Walter I. Jones is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ExecuTech Strategic Consulting (ExecuTech) located in Woodbridge, VA where he is responsible for setting the strategic vision and direction of the company. ExecuTech is a cybersecurity and information technology company providing services and solutions to the Department of Defense and other Federal Agencies. ExecuTech was founded in 2005 by Walter Jones and his wife, Dawn Jones.
He was raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and attended public schools in Somerset County. He entered the United States Air Force in 1974 through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, where he completed the program as a Distinguished Military Graduate and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Troy University, completed the Master’s level curriculum in Computer Science at George Washington University; completed professional military education; to include the Program for Senior Officials in National Security, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, and also completed the Seminar XXI – Foreign Politics, International Relations and National Interests, Center for International Studies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. In 1999, General Jones was awarded the Doctor of Humane Letters by his alma mater, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Over the course of his thirty year military career, he held numerous leadership and command positions in command, control, communications and computer systems, cybersecurity and information assurance while serving in many assignments in the Continental United States as well as overseas in the Pacific and Southwest Asia.
In addition to his responsibilities as President and CEO of ExecuTech Strategic Consulting, he finds time to contribute to his alma mater and other organizations. He serves as a member of the University of Maryland Foundation Board, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Board Of Visitors, and the newly chartered Harold D. Williams National Energy and Sustainability Resource Center.
