Woodbridge, VA (April 13, 2009) – Buddy Hull, Program Manager and Chief Architect,
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Enterprise Networks & Technology Support (ENTS) Network Architecture and Engineering (NAE) was named to the CBP Enterprise Networks & Technology Support Configuration Management Team.
The ENTS Infrastructure Governance Board (EIGB) serves as the ENTS internal business and technology review board for Cost Analysis Requirements Documents, Change Requests (CRs), Internal and External Infrastructure Requirement Requests, and ENTS Resource Requirements Requests. The EIGB is proactive in addressing the changing needs of ENTS’s internal and external customers and the underlying technology.
The EIGB is chaired by the ENTS Deputy Executive Director and facilitated by the Configuration Management (CM) Team, whose members consist of representatives from Network Architecture and Engineering Branch and the Program Management Office. The CM Team is responsible for quality review of all CRs for completeness prior to submitting them to the EIGB. Any approved changes that affect production proceed to the OIT CCB for consideration. The ENTS CM Team also represents OneNet on the Department of Homeland Security Integrated Project Team.
The biggest challenge in developing the EIGB was bringing all the ENTS Directors together to work on adapting to change in a collaborative environment. Since its inception, the EIGB has significantly improved deliberation, collaboration and communication across ENTS. Inclusion of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library influenced processes & procedures will further refine the EIGB. The ENTS CM team’s establishment and facilitation of the EIGB is a great example of CBP OIT team work.
